2011 Best of Southern Gaming Awards- Winners Revealed!
In January 2011, Southern Gaming launched the ninth annual, Best of Southern Gaming Readers Choice Awards in an effort to recognize the most prestigious gaming properties of the South, chosen by the most important critics in the nation — our readers! We received more than 43,000 votes for this year’s awards, proving to us that casino gamblers really do appreciate the chance to honor their favorite gaming destinations — not to mention the trip for two to Vegas, which we are sure was an incentive to vote as well. Airfare and casino hotel stay for one voter and a guest in Sin City— who doesn’t want a chance at that?
We are happy to have received so many thousands of votes from our readers and casino-goers throughout the South. Despite the economy, the gaming industry is still booming— with new properties and better amenities popping up everywhere from Indiana to Florida. Gaming enthusiasts in every region have shown us just how much they love their favorite properties by taking the time to send in their votes in hopes of seeing their top picks glorified in this results issue.
From golf courses to casino personnel, there is something unique at every casino that makes it stand out above the rest. Some people step foot in a casino and go straight to the finest dining restaurant, while others prefer the buffet for a more economical yet filling experience. No matter what you look for in a casino, there is a category for everything in our Best of Awards, enabling you to see what you’ve missed out on and where! We are proud to announce the results of the 2011 Best of Awards for each region. Take the advice of your fellow gamblers— more than 43,000 of them— and check out what these amazing Southern properties have to offer!
