Isildur1 Takes Down $193k Online

With action wrapped up for the summer at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the high stakes online poker scene is back in full force, and nobody could be more excited than Viktor Isildur1 Blom. Still too young to play in the WSOP, the Swedish poker pro was left with virtually no opponents for a month and a half. Bloms prey has apparently returned once again.

Blom spent the past day engaging in an amazing 7,710 hands on his sponsors site, PokerStars, winning almost $200k in the process. Although Blom is known for prolific play, hes obviously been itching to get back in the action, as this marks one of his biggest one-day sessions yet.

Bloms primary target was Phil OMGClayAiken Galfond, a former U.S. player and current CardRunners poker training instructor who relocated to Vancouver to resume his online poker career. Using his MrSweets28 handle, Galfond slugged through over 3,800 hands of PLO at the $25 / $50 stake level, losing a total of $176.5k to Blom and others.

Bloms next victim was Andreas skjerjoy Torbergsen, a good friend of Galfonds who also happens to be one of the foremost card teachers at CardRunners. After 2,217 hands of PLO at the same stake level, the Norwegian poker pro was negative by $121k.

After playing for a staggering 26 hours straight, Blom logged off with $193,778 in fresh cash firmly placed in his bankroll. Although he struggled earlier in the year, Blom is now positive by $500k for 2011 after recording this is not a typo 276,498 hands.

Compris (up $77k), le kork (up $87k) and mTw-DaviN (up $88k) had successful evenings on PokerStars as well. Although the immediate aftermath of the WSOP is normally a hotbed for online poker action, this year could prove different with PokerStars closed to U.S. players and Full Tilt shut down entirely.
